1.) You will end up in the Barrens – accept it.

Throughout the beta process, the one zone that everybody complained about the most was the Barrens, a level 15-20 zone that is quite literally in the center of everything for the Horde. As a result, this zone has the dubious distinction of undergoing almost constant revisions. The good news is, it’s much better than it was – the bad news is, it can still be long and tedious. The thing is, most Horde quest lines eventually send players to the Barrens and it contains access to one of the neutral towns where Horde and Alliance players can get together, so the place is absolutely crawling with players. While that can be good for making friends, it’s also the place that’s the most hunted and overcrowded on the Horde side. Unfortunately, the Barrens is just a fact of life for Horde players – better to go, do what needs to be done, and get out.

2.) Want to get to level 10 quickly? Visit dead people.

More accurately, visit Undead people. Since Quests aren’t race specific, players can accept any level appropriate quest regardless of their race. That means that Horde players have access to a slight shortcut to level 10 similar to the one enjoyed by Alliance players. In the Horde’s case it means hightailing it to the Orc hub city of Orgrimmar as soon as you can survive the trip and catching a zeppelin ride to Tirisfal Glades. Head south from the zeppelin tower to the Undead town of Brill and start looking for quests. Like Teldrassil for Night Elves, the quests in Brill are a bit easier and can usually be solved without a tremendous amount of traveling, significantly shortening your trip to level 10.

3.) The Horde has the best and worst hub cities in the game.

Both sides in World of Warcraft have three hub cities designed for players to congregate, buy and sell items, and deal with NPC vendors and trainers. The Horde is blessed with the best and cursed with one of the worst hub cities in the game. The best city to do business with NPCs in is the Undead Undercity. If you have a choice of heading to one hub city, this is the one to pick. It’s the smallest major city, meaning you don’t have to do a tremendous amount of running to get to the shops you want. The city is also basically a circle – meaning it’s almost impossible to get lost. Orgrimmar, the Orc hub city, on the other hand, is incredibly confusing, with twisting paths that sometime loop back on themselves. Orgrimmar means a lot of running and it’s all too easy to get lost. It’s also kind of the center of the universe for Horde players, so you really do need to learn it if you hope to use the auction or make new friends.

4.) Tired of fighting for elbow room? Join the Horde!

For some odd reason, players seem to choose to play as Alliance characters far more often than as Horde characters. The good news for Horde players, though, is that fewer players mean fewer people jockeying for resources. Even the Barrens, probably the most crowded Horde region, never sees the problems with “mass extinction events” that routinely plague the Alliance. If you’re interested in questing and not interested in hanging around with ten other people (at peak hours) waiting for a monster spawn, join the Horde.

5.) The Undead are just psychotically cool

While everyone has their own opinion, mind is that no World of Warcraft race gets as many “coolness points” as the Undead. First, the character models are just a riot with hairstyles, there physics and a facial customization options are straight out of the Velvet Dungeon. The designers also clearly had a ball putting the Undead lands together because every area and storyline within the Undead zones is filled with clever asides and subtle (and not so subtle) humor about the Forsaken’s unusual situation. Role-players will also enjoy playing the Undead since they’re as close as any World of Warcraft race comes to being “evil”. True – they are an oppressed minority, but they’re also planning universal genocide, so you make your own call.

I am talking about Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide. Written by a professional player who won Blizzard’s contest a few years ago, this guide contains unique leveling strategies and techgniques. But the biggest advantage of this guide is that it contains leveling videos. You can whatch every move Joana did to get to level 70 so fast. This feature sets Joana’s Guide apart from the crowd.

Joana always updates his guide. Recently, he has added a mapmod to the guide. I think you have already heard about this addon. It is used to point out NPC and quest coordinates from the guide right on your game map so there is no need to press ALT+TAB to find your next coordinate anymore. Just follow the dots on your map and you are on the way to level 70.

However Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide has some disadvantages two. As you see from its’ name, it is horde only. If you are alliance you can forget about using it. The other disadvantage is that it is too detailed. I think that it is a little bit annoying. Go there, turn there etc. But even if Joana’s Horde Leveling Guide isn’t ideal, it is one of the best guides in world of warcraft which has helped hundreds of players to get to the highest level faster then their competitors. To get started right with the Alchemy, you need to first gather some of the materials your gonna need to speed up the leveling process. If you are a herbalist you can farm for these materials.Some herbs can only be found in instances like Ancient Lichen.So if you want to do this fast your going to need to have some wow gold handy to spend.

You will need to make 59 Minor Healing Potions using 59 Empty Vials, 59 Peace Blooms and 59 Silverleafs. You must keep them for later use during the game.

At this level you will need to go visit your trainer to learn WoW Alchemy Journeyman.
Skill Level 61 – 110
You will need to make 50 Lesser Healing Potions using 50 Briarthorn and 50 Minor Healing Potion.
Skill Level 111 – 140
You will need to make 30 Healing Potions using 30 Leaded Vials, 30 Briarthorn and 30 Bruiseweed.
P 2 – WoW Alchemy Expert

It is recommended that you choose Herbalism to make the most out of Alchemy, WoW Alchemy leveling is a bit of a chore but it’s still a cool Profession to have. Though it might take a while to get to 450, it’s worth the effort in the end because you can profit from the potions and elixirs you make. I provided my way which I considered to be the one of the fastest way to level to 450. But it’s not cast in stone coz there are so many ways you can approach leveling up this Profession. Whew! This is because of the Mage Class’ ability to lure mobs almost as much as they want, this is because they can do some cool area damage that other Classes can’t. You can see why this ability is considered so valuable if used smartly. But how can you put the Mage’s ability and put it all together to make some serious gold. Let’s take a look at a few things.

The greatness of the WoW Mage class is its ability to do AOE (Area of Effect) damage. AOE damage is very effective because you don’t have to target individual enemies, you can target an area or you are the anchor. If you are the anchor then the damage effects radiate outward to a pre-determined range that affect all targets within the area. Very powerful stuff.

So let’s highlight a few secret areas and ways to use this great AOE damage effect to your gold making advantage.

One place  you can really profit from with the Mage Class is Nagrand in the Outlands. Here you will find Voidspawns, knock those babies out and stock up on the Mote of Shadows and Motes of Fire. Remember that ten Mote of Shadows/Motes of Fire gets you a Primal Shadow/Primal Fire, if you don’t know by now, each Primal Shadow should get you about 30 in gold. Yowzers!

Another place you can go to make gold with the WoW Mage Class is the Torokkar Forest around the Allerian Stronghold, in this area there are two creatures take out – different kinds of Basilisks, and the Warp Stalker. The Warp Stalker will give you Warped Flesh at a high drop rate. If your smart you should have gotten the Skinning Profession because then you would be able to skin the Basilisks and get some Knothide Leather. That is a powerful combination that a lot of WoW gamers don’t think of. You can also get the Chunk O Basilisk which is equally valuable. You can really stock up and make some serious profit this way. Make sure you got some big bags, you’ll need them.

There you go, a few ways to make some gold with the WoW Mage Class. Use your imagination and get creative, there is a ton of gold to make for all the Classes but the Mage Class is one of the best. Good luck.

There are many different things you can do to level faster in WoW. In this article I am going to expose two basic (but important) things you can do to start leveling faster.

1. Set Your Inn/Hearth Location to either Shattrath or Dalaran

At the time the Burning Crusade expansion pack was released, a useful addition was made. Portals in Shattrath city link to all other major cities.

What this basically means is that if you set your Hearthstone to “Shat” or Dalaran you can get  to any of the other major cities clicking on the portal of the place you want to go.

Unlike in Dalaran, there are no obvious inn’s in Shattrath that you can use to set as your Hearthstone. In Shattrath you can do it in one of two places:

1. Aldor Rise

2. Scryers Tier

Guards can give you the exact location of these inn’s. Hint: If you touch the M key you’ll see the exact locations appear on your map! If you prefer you can ride the lift up to where you’re headed. You’ll find Scryers Tier is to the South and Aldors Rise is to the West.

When you come to go down the lift, you can actually jump right off it and you wont die. You’ll only die if your character is extremely weak or has low quality gear.

You won’t be able to open the portal if your character is level 73 or below. In this case you can still use the portal though, you’ll just need to get a Mage to help you out by opening the portal for you.

2. Get one of the new Add-ons for In-Game Leveling

A few different leveling add-ons have been released in the past 6 months. What they do is save you a heap of time by directing you exactly where you need to go. Questing is much faster as you never need to walk around aimlessly. These are a key addition for fast leveling.

If you want to double your leveling time, I highly recommend you try one of these add-ons. They halved my leveling time and make things so much quicker and easier in general.

Player versus Player (PvP) is the term used for fighting against other player controlled characters. PvPing is split up into the following: Arenas, Honor (Battlegrounds and world killing), zone objectives and dueling. There are great rewards like armor and weapons connected to the three first mentioned.

Arenas

If you want to play arenas, the first thing you’ll have to do is to create an arena team. You are able to fight in arenas with 2, 3 and 5-manned teams. Each team starts with an arena rating of 1500. You will then gain or lose rating, depending on whether you win or loose the arena match you play. The amount of rating you gain or lose depends on the opposing team’s rating. If you fight against a team with a much higher team rating than yours, you will gain a lot of points if you win and if you lose the rating loss will be small. Once a week you will receive arena points based on your team rating. You use these arena points as currency to buy equipment.

Honor

You get honor for killing the opposite faction, no matter where you are, except Arenas. There are certain places where you get extra honor for completing an objective. These places are called battlegrounds. When the objective is complete, the battleground is over, and the teams will receive bonus honor. There are a total of four battlegrounds:

• Warsong Gulch: This battleground has a capture the flag style of game play, where the objective is to capture the enemy flag and bring it back to your base three times. You get bonus honor for each capture and if you’re the first team to reach three captures.

• Arathi Basin: This battleground has a ‘capture and defend’ style of game play, where the objective is to capture the as many of the five bases and defend them. Your team gets objective points every second increasing with the number of bases you have. You get bonus honor for the number of objective points you are able to get in a round well as winning. You win by getting 2000 objective points.

• Alterac Valley: In this battleground your goal is to push your way to the other faction’s base, and kill the enemy General. On the way, you’ll have to deal with bunkers, towers and several groups of guards and enemy “mini bosses”. You get bonus honor for destroying bunkers and towers, killing enemy “mini bosses” and for winning (killing the enemy general).

• Eye of the Storm: This battleground is a mix of Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin. The main objective is to hold as many towers as you can, much like Arathi Basin and then score points by bringing the flag in the centre of the map to one of the towers your team is in control over. You get objective points for holding towers as well as capturing the flag. You win by getting 2000 objective points.

1. Put EVERY known spawn point of every type of ore/herb on your map? (not just ones you have gathered)

2. Put a tiny ore/herb indicator on your minimap which showed what type of ore/herb it is?

3. Had the minimap indicator turn into an empty circle when you are close enough to see if there’s a spawn there or not?

AND

4. Drew a route on your map and minimap that most efficiently connected every spawn point?

A new add on plots the shortest route to check those points!
While Gatherer Add on had been the gold-standard mod for capturing and recording spawn points for Herbs and Ore, Cartographer now does it, in addition to plotting your path.

Here’s what to do:

1. Go to the Professions Tips forums at makewowgold.com and check the thread ‘Map Route to find Ore/Herbs’ to find out how to download the add on.

2. Once in the game, you should see a small Screw icon on your minimap. Click that and choose the map add on from the list of add ons (other add ons will appear if you have them installed).

3. Configure Herbalism/Mining to display how you want it. You’ll know it is working correctly if you open your map and see a ton of ore/herb symbols all over the place. (Unless you’re in a city, obviously….then just chose a zone that should.)

4. Add and configure Routes from the Routes screen. I walk through that below. Before you do, I recommend you change the global setting of the Route size to the minimum (I think it’s 10). The default is like 35 and puts quite a thick line on your map that can actually block you from seeing the spawn points.

Routes:

1. From the configuration screen (which you get from clicking the Screw icon), choose Routes, Add.

2. Give your route a name. Start with something like “Netherstorm Ore All”.

3. Choose the zone of the map the route applies to. (ie: Netherstorm for the example)

4. Click the Data dropdown, and then check on all that you want to find. For now, start with all of them (Fel Iron, Adamantite, Rich Adamantite, Khorium). If you can see your map, you’ll see that it basically draws a line from every spawn point to every other spawn point. Not very helpful. That’s why the next step is so important.

5. Optimize! I choose the ‘Extra Optimized’ option, and optimize in the fore-ground. (doing it in the background lets you keep playing WoW while it calculates the route…I just prefer to let it get the route done faster.)

TA-DA! You should have the most efficient (shortest) route that will circuit the map and hit every spawn point along the way!

Now you can just fly along this route (you do not have to stick exactly to it), and you will fly over every point on a given zone.

The other thing you can do is create shorter routes based on fewer spawn points. Don’t choose EVERY type of data, but instead choose just one, such as Adamantite. Let the route be built on Adamantite only. Maybe you are only interested in Adamantite because it sells better on your server than Fel Iron. You can shorten your route a bit…and you can still see Fel Iron if you happen to fly over it. You just won’t go out of your way to check a single Fel Iron spawn point.

For example, a friend recently plotted a route in Shadowmoon Valley where only the Nightmare Vine were on the route. He told me he has managed to fly the entire circuit in about 15-20 minutes and collect 40-50 Nightmare Vine. You can figure out from there how much gold that will make you, and how fast!

Obviously this add on does not work outside of Outland, as a straight line between spawn points is only practical with a flying mount. But still, it is the best way to shorten the amount of time needed to harvest herbs or ore.

Let me explain.

I was reading some articles this morning about farming. Eh, I don’t only write them, but I read them as well. I can’t say that I’ve read them all, but I’ve read enough. Almost all of them recommend great farming spots, such as:

* Winterspring

* Eastern Plaguelands

* Anywhere in Outlands

Look, the first two are fantastic farming spots – think Ice Thistle Yetis – and we all know that in Outlands, the roads are paved with Gold.

But there’s something very WRONG. Come on, people. You have to be level 50+ for Winterspring, 55+ for Eastern Plaguelands, and level 58 just to enter Outlands, never mind actually killing anything.

If you’re a new player, or an experienced played on a new server – no rich sugar daddy – what are you going to do? Hope for Blue or Epic drops, from Hogger perhaps? Vendor Linen Cloth? Try to be a ‘Master of the Universe’ on the Auction House and maybe lose your Red Linen Shirt? (That’s a reference to ‘Bonfire of the Vanities’ for you non-readers out there)

Fortunately, Renei is here with the solution to your low-level gold farming problems! Yes, Gold, not silver and coppers. If you follow this extremely simple recipe for success, I personally guarantee you 25g or more in 5 days, which you’ll agree is quite a bit for a low-level character with no backup (i.e., a friendly same-account level 70 who’s oozing WoW Gold from every orifice).

It won’t even take long.

Get out of the start area after getting your new character to level 6. That’s about the time they kick you out to Goldshire if you’re playing Alliance. Go to Stormwind, in the Dwarf Quarter and pick mining. Buy a mining pick from the Mining Supplies vendor so conveniently located at the bottom of the stairs. Pick up any other skill you want while you’re there.

Then, go back to Goldshire and resume your adventures. By the time you are level 15, which won’t take very long since Blizzard redid the experience grids, you’ll be able to go anywhere in Elwynn forest, mining with impunity all the while.

So you’re thinking, “Renei, is that your big GOLD SECRET! That’s so lame, dude!” Yes, well, whatever. At level 15, in a one hour run through Elwynn Forest, you should be able to gather about 100 copper ore, turn it into 100 Copper Bars, and sell them for a minimum of 1g per stack at the Auction House. You can probably get more if you sell only on Weekends, which you should do anyways.

So you do this for 5 days, and you make yourself a minimum of 25g. That’s not even counting all the linen cloth you’ll be able to collect, the occasional green drops, the Shadowgems and Tiger’s Eye, even the Rough Stone, the money you’ll collect from all the mobs you kill (easily, since you’ll be level 15 – at least 3 levels above any mob in Elwynn), all the Chests you’ll loot… I could go on (and will, in another article). Remember: Everything that is not ‘Gray’ goes to the Auction House, never the Vendor!

In closing, keep in mind that you only need to keep mining for a little while, as long as you feel like making easy low-level WoW Gold. At low levels it is very easy to switch to another profession and bring it up to the same level as your other skills without a huge time investment.
